I must be going insane. This is hands down, the best sandwich place to eat in Grand Island. I'm sorry, but the three people reviewing this place are simply wrong. I haven't used them as a catering service but I have eaten here at least 50 times or more. They have amazing sandwiches, excellent soups, wonderful cookies, and a little known secret called breakfast! If the owner is working ask him to make you his special. Whatever he makes, I can assure you it will be amazing! I have lived many places, Los Angeles, Seattle, and the Chicago area I have yet to find a sandwich place that beats Sutter deli. If you like huge greasy portions with a pound of french fries, maybe this isn't your place, but if you have a taste for fresh products and real food, you will not be disappointed.

I've used this place as a caterer once, and dined in once. Good experiences with both. Despite a mishap with the tablecloths, the catering was satisfactory. Guests really enjoyed the Chinese Chicken Salad & variety of sandwiches. We did buffet-style serve-yourself for the meeting. Reasonable price. When I dined in, the owner was really nice & teased us the whole time. He even brought over some complimentary pumpkin(?) bread. I ordered the "Trainwreck" sandwich which had bleu cheese & was tasty. Came with chips. I would recommend dining here for lunch. Try the half-sandwich/half Chinese Chicken Salad combo. 2 minuses: - You can only get the plain Ruffles-style chips - No free refills (25 cents/ea)

The sandwiches here are alright, nothing to write home about. My husband LOVES the oatmeal butterscotch cookies.

This place has great fresh sandwiches! I've gone back to try just about everything on the menu and my favorite is the Johnny Appleseed. Their ginger cookies that are usually straight out of the oven are delicious too! Get there early though, as that one sells out quick! :)

i was visiting in town and met an old friend for lunch here because this is one of her favorite lunch spots and i love panini, she got the club sandwich which looked impressive and a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie and i got the chicken mozzerella and sun dried tomato pesto panini with a snickerdoodle. all the food and the iced tea were excellent and we had a great time catching up with the backdrop of this adorable deli!
